Governance
The Islet Transplantation Program is managed by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and overseen by two Boards which provide both local and international executive and scientific oversight and leadership. These experts help JDRF’s Islet Transplantation Program build its position as an important international contributor to the exciting fields of islet transplantation and immune tolerance.
ITP Executive Board
The Executive Board is the governing body of the ITP and is responsible for setting overall policies and the scientific agenda for ITP operation, deciding on research and clinical procedure funding allocations and monitoring and reporting on ITP operations.

ITP Scientific Advisory Board
The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) comprises leading diabetes researchers from throughout the world and advises the Executive Board. The SAB provides independent expert scientific advice about key breakthroughs, as well as advice about opportunities with cutting-edge potential relevant to the ITP to the Executive Board. The SAB has been developed to provide a forum and mechanism for engaging expert and global input into the scientific direction of the ITP.
